Engineers Without Borders
The 2008 Annual International Conference of Engineers Without Borders was held at the University of Washington. Engineers Without Borders is an international non-profit organization dedicated to partnering with disadvantaged communities worldwide in order to improve their quality of life through the implementation of environmentally sustainable, equitable and economical engineering projects while developing responsible engineers and engineering students. The 2008 conference focused on sustainable engineering and global health, and featured keynote speaker Bill Gates of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
